The material of your bike can make or break the quality of your ride. Our commitment to chromoly steel allows you to have the best possible ride every time.
1) Reliability: Chromoly steel uses a special welding technique for its frames and joints. This technique increases the strength of the welded edges compared to steel or aluminum, strengthening the bike all the way through. Chromoly steel is also treated before and after manufacturing to increase the natural resistance to corrosion, dramatically lessening the chance of rust. With a chromoly steel bike, you can worry less about bike upkeep and enjoy riding year after year.
2) Portability: Chromoly steel is also much lighter than regular steel while still maintaining similar strength. This translates to sleeker frames, faster speeds, and comfortable maneuverability. These characteristics make chromoly steel the perfect material for city and commuter bikes.
3) Comfort: Chromoly steel is naturally shock-absorbent. Instead of adding bulky shocks to your front wheel, or worse, jittering along with every bump and crack along the way (as with aluminum frames), the frame itself softens unpleasant road vibration, leaving you with a smooth ride.

My name is Tim Mathewson and I have been in the bicycle industry for 49 years. During this time, I have ridden almost every type of bike made. I have watched as the industry adopted new materials for lighter and lighter bikes. I have also watched bicycle design move away from proper ergonomics for the masses in pursuit of speed. While the racer may have benefited from such designs, the common rider has not.
If a bicycle is built with compliant geometry and is ergonomically correct, it will bring joy every time it is ridden and it will be ridden much more often than if is uncomfortable. I own over 50 bikes and ride 10 or so on a regular basis with the ones made of steel being my preference. The bicycle offered is for the common rider and made to be maintenance free, allowing the rider more time to ride. My wife and son as well as myself, all ride on with the same frame. Of all the materials used to build a bike, I would choose steel every time. With the use of steel, good geometry, and top level components, it is hard to beat the overall experience.
No one I know ever regrets quality after they buy it. Today’s readily available technology often build dreams without foundations. There is no reason to reinvent the bicycle. Just make nice ones and people will thank you for it. Thank you for the time for me to weigh in some thoughts. Feel free to email me with any questions.
