The Boston Bike Company is building an American-made bicycle company focused on craftsmanship, manufacturing discipline, and urban performance. Our team combines experience in entrepreneurship, operations, and product development to build bikes that are durable, distinctive, and built with intent.
Kevin Griffin - Chairman
Kevin Griffin is an entrepreneur and business builder with a track record of founding, acquiring, and growing companies. He founded Showtime Foods on Cape Cod in 1987, spent five years in corporate sales at America Online, and later acquired and grew Griffin Publishing Co. Following a period of transitional consulting, he founded Semiotic Marketing International in 2020 and Integrated Employment Screening in 2022. He also serves as Executive Director of the Northeast Wholesale Food Distributors Association (NEWFDA).
Sam Besnoff -COO
Sam Besnoff leads operations and manufacturing. He brings strong hands-on experience with machinery, fabrication, and 3D printing. Sam played a key role in building the company’s first bikes, starting with the bike jig, sourcing the steel, bending the frame components for precision fit, and welding the frame into a strong and durable structure. His technical skill and practical execution have been central to the company’s early manufacturing progress.
John Sortino - Founder
John Sortino is the founder and former CEO of The Vermont Teddy Bear Company. Over a 15-year period, he grew the business from a small operation into a $100 million public offering, beginning with a $50,000 loan. During his tenure, VTBC was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of America’s fastest-growing companies and received additional honors for customer service, public relations, and business excellence. John also helped found The Chicago Bike Company and is the author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Becoming a Successful Entrepreneur

Our frame weighs approximately 6 pounds and is built from chromoly steel for strength, durability, and ride quality. It is designed to balance performance, resilience, and everyday usability for urban riders.
Our Bikes, the perfect City Bike
Our bikes are lightweight, strong, and designed for city riding. To date, we have built 38 bikes. We also offer a wide range of color options, giving riders the ability to choose a bike that reflects their style.
